All visas are extended 6 months
According to the Official State Gazette published on May 20, 2020 , any authorization or residence permit that was going to expire during the state of alarm, is extended.
In other words, if you are residing in Spain and your card was going to expire in the next few days, or it did so during the state of alarm, it is now valid for an extra 6 months .
It has not expired. And those 6 extra months start counting once the state of alarm is lifted (even if it expired yesterday or 2 weeks ago).
This also applies if your card has expired during the 3 months mobile number list before the state of alarm began (from December 14 onwards).
As an important note, we do not have to carry out any specific procedure with the immigration office . The procedure is automatically applied.
However, the tourist stay that expired during this period is extended for 3 more months, limited to Spanish territory (not to the entire Schengen Area). The same goes for study visas.
Once the state of alarm ends (we still do not know when), this measure will be extinguished.
